After spending ages toiling over spreadsheet graphs of rear wheel load against travel I realised it was pointless without a reference point so I spent some time putting together a spreadsheet to model the rear wheel load/travel for the stock twinshock bike. This is reasonably straightforward to do as the mathematics are much simpler than those used to model the monoshock linkage. The graph below shows the standard bike and a proposed mono-shock setup using an FZR250 linkage. One of the byproducts of this is that I am slowly getting a feel for what adjustments needs to be made to alter the load/travel profile. There is a still a way to go but at least I will have a better idea of where I should be adding mount points for the linkage.
